Las Vegas Bleeding Gums

Have you ever brushed your teeth and ended up with Las Vegas bleeding gums? Did you assume that you were using the wrong type of toothbrush, one that had bristles that were too hard? Is it possible that you were brushing too long and you irritated the delicate tissue of your gums? Or could it be that you have the start of gum disease and that’s why your gums bleed when you brush or floss your teeth?

Any of these scenarios is possible when you have Las Vegas bleeding gums. And it may be for any of the reasons already mentioned. If you happened to buy a toothbrush with hard bristles, not only could you be hurting your gums when you brush too hard, but you could also be damaging the enamel on your teeth at the same time. And just in case you don’t realize it, once the enamel on your teeth is damaged, it doesn’t grow back. So making sure you brush with a soft bristled toothbrush is probably more important than you realize.

Even if you use a soft bristled toothbrush, it’s important not to overdo it when you’re brushing every day. Many people don’t realize how delicate the tissue of the gum is, and if you brush too hard or too long, you can cause it to swell and even get infected. So brushing with the proper type of toothbrush and not overdoing it is more important than you might think.

If you’re brushing with the proper type of toothbrush and not brushing for an extraordinarily long time and you’re still seeing blood when you brush, it’s time to make an appointment at one of the Moore Family Dentistry offices in Las Vegas or Summerlin for a dental checkup.
