Las Vegas Periodontal Care

You know you should brush and floss every day, but do you? Have you been letting your dental care go as you get older? As dentists we know that taking care of your teeth and gums is not always the first thing on your mind. And that’s why we stress Las Vegas periodontal care in our dental office. We know that when you have red, swollen gums, you’re going to be in pain and that’s probably when you’ll finally make a call for a dental appointment at Moore Family Dentistry.

We’re sure you realize that when you have bleeding gums, it’s not just that you’re brushing your teeth too hard or you’re using a toothbrush with bristles that are too tough. Although those could be the problem, it’s more likely that you’ve developed gingivitis, or worse yet, periodontal disease. What’s the difference between gingivitis and gum disease? Gingivitis is a mild form of gum disease that is totally reversible if you simply resume a regular routine of brushing and flossing every day. Periodontal disease, on the other hand, is much more serious in that it can cause infection to penetrate through your gums and into the bone that holds your teeth in place. When that happens, you need to come in for Las Vegas periodontal care right away or you risk losing bone density and even losing teeth.

As dentists, we hope you take care of your teeth and gums on a daily basis and you can avoid the need for Las Vegas periodontal care. But if you’ve been a little more lax than you should have been and you find you have pain and swelling and bleeding when you brush, call Moore Family Dentistry right away for an appointment. You can reach us at 702-791-1010 for our central office near Maryland Pkwy and Sahara, or at 702-254-6700 for our Summerlin office. We look forward to helping with all your dental needs.
